
Hi. I’m Jonathan Sandall. I trained with the Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (SCCP) – accredited by the NSPsy and IHA. I am also a member of The National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH).
I hold qualifications in a number of different therapies. You can read more about them here. They all aim to achieve a positive outcome. But, as we are all different people with different histories and personalities, we won’t all respond in the same way.
I like to think that the core skill of an effective hypnotherapist is to be a good listener and understand his or her client well enough to select the best form of therapy.
The history, science and theory behind these techniques are less important than knowing that they are all aimed at the same outcome: to help you unlock the brilliant healing resources you already hold within you.
My interest in healing through hypnotherapy began a long time ago, when I experienced its benefits first-hand. The impact on me was the start of a life-long journey. It was clear to me that this is a powerful tool for transformation. Later on, that experience inspired me make the decision to help others through the practice of hypnotherapy.
I formally trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist after forty years and two interesting careers in the commercial and not for profit sectors. Along the way, I have dealt with my own career, personal and financial challenges.
I’ve lived and worked in the UK and abroad. These experiences broadened my outlook and deepened my appreciation of different perspectives and cultures.
I learned to find my own balance and inner peace, and am a little wiser and, most importantly, a lot happier as a result.
I have found there are generally three main reasons why you might be interested in hypnotherapy: (i) there is an aspect of your life or behaviour that you want to stop and is holding you back from leading your best life;(ii) there is an aspect of your personality that you wish you could develop to make you happier or more fulfilled; or perhaps (iii) something happened to you in the past that has made you fearful and anxious in certain situations.
Whatever your reason, please understand that you already have the knowledge and skills to be the happy and fulfilled person you want to be. You might just need a little help and guidance in unlocking them.
I do not claim or promise that hypnotherapy is a miracle cure, although seeming miracles can and do occasionally happen. Reaching a full sense of wellbeing will take work. But, if you are prepared to put in the effort, amazing transformations will happen.
Because each of us is a unique and extraordinary person, no single approach will work for everyone. Part of the client-therapist process we go through is to discover what type of therapy feels most comfortable and will yield the best and quickest results for you.
We all have the capacity to change. Sometimes all that’s needed is the right guidance and a safe, supportive space where you can explore new ways of thinking and move toward lasting, positive transformation. That’s what I can provide.
Together, we will help you to unlock the key to that solution in a gentle, safe and non-judgemental way. You will be amazed at the impact it can have. You will feel so much better about yourself. Feelings of being anxious, out of control, living in a fog will fade away and life will be immeasurably better, calmer, healthier and happier.
